Our new building is ready!
Today was very special because it marked the end of a project that we began two years ago. Today we received our final building inspection and certificate of occupancy. Tomorrow and Monday the office will be closed while we move to the new location. We will be open again on Tuesday April 2nd. While not every detail is done, we can finally occupy on new office. Here is the new address:

Basin Audiology
2578 Daggett Ave.
Klamath Falls, OR 97601

Our phone system may be done for part of the day on Monday, April 1--and this is not an April fools joke!

Delays for updates to the Hearing Office Pro and Lite
The programming for the Pro version is nearly finished; however, I have not started on the manual. We have been using the new Pro version in our office most of this year and really like the increased speed and more compact interface. There are four major files/modules: Invoicing, Patient Management, Communications, and Scheduling. HIPAA compliance, including multiple password access and monitoring of data enter, is included.

Since beginning this project, we started designing a new office building. We lost our lease on the current building and need to move our practice. The new building is very exciting for us, but it is taking a ton of time and energy. As a result, I don't have enough time to devote to programming software. I pushed the expected finish date for the software back another 12 months. Hopefully I will be able to complete the project during that time. I will post additional updates when I have them.

Speech In Noise-Reporting and Summary, SIN-RS
I started working on a prescriptive program, SIN-RS, Speech-In-Noise-Reporting and Summary, that uses in formation from S-I-N testing to guide consumers towards products which will provide the best benefit. This program has been in development for over a year. There were some initial issues with copyright law that were resolved, and I plan to release this program soon. Information to create the tool comes from evidence based practice in audiology.

Updates to Hearing Office Pro and Lite
The current programs are no longer available for download. It's been many years since there were substantial changes made to the Lite and Pro versions and they need a face lift. Both products will receive different version numbers and will be priced and supported differently than previous versions. I will post new versions when they become available. I anticipate a launch in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2006. Support for existing versions will continue indefinitely. I will update this post from time to time

Updated Pricing for Industrial Records
The introductory pricing for the Industrial records program has ended. The new price is $199.00 for a single user license.

A Note About Email
I am using measures to eliminate the amount of SPAM that I receive. On any given day, I may receive as many as several hundred junk emails. Over the weekends, I may have over 1000 junk e-mails. This is simply too much email for me to review.

I use two programs to filter the e-mail before I see it. If you use a free e-mail service, such as Yahoo, Juno, Netscape, or Netzero, to message me you may not get a response. This is happening because the message contains advertising. If your email program automatically attaches gif, jpg, wma, mp3, and/or png files as part of the email, you will need to remove these before sending your message. To ensure that you email can get to me, try the following:

  • Send messages as plain text only. This will remove any automatic attachments that my anti SPAM program would flag.
  • Be sure to include in the subject line a reference to Hearing Office Software.
