I created
this slide show with pictures that I took at the event, October
7, 2006 and at the end September. CASA, Court Appointed Special
Advocate, is a community based organization providing trained
advocates for abused and neglected children who are dependent
on the Juvenile Court to ensure their right to a safe and permanent
home. This ride is annual event designed to raise awareness
and money for their program. To
learn more about their organization click here to visit their web site. The slide show is subject
to the Conditions
of Use statement provided by Louis Du Brey. If this is your
first time to a hearingoffice.com web site, please view this
statement by clicking the link on the left side of the page before
proceeding.
- Crystal Springs
- Ride
Report
- Between
starting later, doing the long route, and taking a lot of pictures,
we ended up spending most of the day by ourselves. The morning
was foggy and cool, but after an hour or so the sun came out
and warmed everything up to the perfect riding temperature.
It was one of the prettiest days for doing this ride! The food
at the rest stops was great and the scenery with the fall colors
was outstanding. We didn't get a chance to eat the post ride
barbecue, but heard it was great. If you enjoy fall colors and
a flat course, mark your calendars for next years event.
- The
Slide Show
- This
is a stand alone application that will play the slide show on
your screen. You don't need anything but this file to view the
show. You will have the option to view the photos as a slide
show with music or in a scrapbook format where you can turn the
photos individually. If you need help running the slide show,
see the next section
- Click
here to download a small file that will
teach you how to use the slide show below.
- System
Requirements:
- Windows 95/98,
NT 4.0 w/ sp 6a, 2000, or XP. The software will not operate
on Win 3.1 or the MacOS--sorry
- 400 mg hz Pentium
II processor or higher
- 20 mb's of
free hard drive disc space
- VGA Video adapter
capable of driving at least a 14" display to 800 X 600
- 32MB RAM required,
64MB recommended.
- Click
here (approximately
14.5 mb's)
to
download the slide show.
- Printing
Photos
- I
posted a link here
today, 10/8/2006, to allow online printing. The link will be
active for 4-6 weeks. I'm not charging you to use my pictures,
but you will need to pay for the photo processing of any photos
you order. You are allowed to print photos for personal use only.
- Sometimes
I'm asked to email my photos for home printing. I won't do this
for a number of reasons. If you do a lot of home printing, you
should know that photos last longer and are cheaper to print
using a professional service. Leo's
Camera store in Klamath Falls does excellent work and they
are very good to work with. When you use the online service,
you have an option to have the photos printed locally for same
day pickup at Leos. You can also have them mailed to your home,
so the process is very convenient.
- If
you want more information about why home printing isn't a great
idea, recently the NY Times published the article: Why
Do-It-Yourself Photo Printing Doesn't Add Up. Click here to read the full text.
